Colby McLemore’s family prides itself on exceptional storytelling. This sparked his love of conversational presentation. He enjoys engaging crowds with a laid-back approach that arms participants with something actionable. The Craftsman degree was a natural fit as he had been teaching photography at the University of Tennessee, doing workshops, and presenting at enthusiast camera clubs throughout Tennessee before he joined PPA. He jokes that his spirit yearns for attention as he was the youngest of his family.
He is proud to be an active supporter for the entire Tennessee photographic community. He has been or is currently a PPA Councilor, the president of his local affiliate and an active member of this state affiliate (Tennessee Professional Photographer Association and Professional Photographer of East Tennessee), the American Society of Media Professionals of Tennessee, Pellissippi State Community College’s Photography Board of Advisors, as well as a litany of others. He won a bunch of awards like Top Ten of the Grand Imaging Award in the commercial category, Gold and Silver Addy awards, an ASP State Award, Fuji Award, Kodak Award, has been voted the Best of the Best Photographer in this city magazine, newspaper and advertising community year after year.
Food photography is more than taking a photo of a delicious meal. It’s a way to stire the emotions with beautiful imagery that tells a story and allows the viewer to taste with their eyes. In this hour and a half presentation, I’ll be giving a grand overview of the industry and arming you with additional resources to learn more. We will discuss lighting considerations, lens choices, and food styling, as well as information on the business side of the genre. Make sure you come fed, otherwise you might need to raid the kitchen.
