in focus Welcome to the new online journal of Professional Photographers of North Carolina (PPNC). You can find out more about what is going on and coming up with PPNC as well as more information on the members of PPNC and the photography industry.
Print competition is very serious to professional photographers. It is a wonderful way to learn and grow our skills as a photographer. Some times we feel good and receive honors and awards after print competition. Other times, it is good to have a thick skin.
Regardless, we know we can learn from what the judges say. What is the best way to learn anything? To have fun in the process of course. Here is a little video created by a few PPNC members regarding print judging and the famous “78”. (FYI: A 78 in print competition is like a close but no cigar score) Hopefully, the judges will enjoy this bit of humor too.
